In fairness to the rightoids, Mamdani’s position before being elected was “What we need is to #DefundTheNYPD… NO to fake cuts – defund the police.” If he followed through on this rhetoric, collapse of law and order is the predictable outcome. He has essentially reversed position

The fact that Mamdani hasn’t gotten in the way of the nationwide downward trend in murders either means he was lying in back in 2020, or he moderated his most radical positions once he thought it through. In either case, this isn’t necessarily doomerism from rightoids.
