This morning I was on BBC highlighting the significant impact of rising costs on pharmacies in England which is now leading to pharmacy deserts appearing in some parts of the country.
Yet unfortunately instead of supporting our local health services like pharmacies and GPs, the NHS budget is being spent on poorly thought through projects that will have no benefits for patient care.

Allow me to give a view @CMO_England as a senior clinician along with national roles.
Using A & G, virtual consults - that’s a lot of risk we manage day in, day out
However- when doctors are being asked to become the risk liability sponge by being given unproven things like AI- or lesser trained staff to be responsible for?
The answer- for our own sake, sanity and avoidance of regulatory issues- not to mention ensuring we never forget “Do No Harm”?
Has to be sometimes No.
I will avoid talking about the pandemic & risk management decisions made during that period- and lessons we all subsequently learnt.

Seems focused on superficially reducing numbers (ie people waiting on referral lists) but each number is a live human patient.
NHS productivity and getting patients diagnosed and treated in a timely manner seems to not matter.
