Dear @csfloatcom Team, Greetings from the Steam Inventory Helper (SIH) Team. We are contacting you regarding a serious matter we identified in the official Discord community associated with the BetterFloat extension. We have preserved public statements made by a person associated with BetterFloat (official extension owner) containing false and defamatory statements concerning SIH. In particular, the BetterFloat community contains statements alleging that SIH can, at any given moment, steal a user's entire Steam account and all of the items associated with it, as well as statements claiming that SIH requests virtually every possible browser permission and poses a security risk to its users. These statements concern specific and objectively verifiable facts rather than merely subjective opinions. They directly impugn the security, reliability and business reputation of SIH and have the clear potential to cause users to refrain from using SIH in favor of a competing product, BetterFloat. We are particularly concerned that the person associated with these statements is publicly identified as Armin Stanitzok, while his LinkedIn profile identifies CSFloat Inc. as his employer, and CSFloat Inc.'s public LinkedIn company profile lists Armin Stanitzok among its employees. We have preserved records of these publicly available representations as evidence. Depending on the facts established, the conduct described above may implicate, among other things, Delaware law governing deceptive trade practices, including 6 Del. C. § 2532(a)(8), which prohibits, in the course of business, disparaging another person's goods, services or business by a false or misleading representation of fact. The conduct may also give rise to claims for defamation/business libel and, where the applicable commercial-promotion requirements are satisfied, claims under 15 U.S.C. § 1125(a). We are not presuming at this stage that the statements or conduct were authorized by CSFloat management. However, the publicly documented relationship between the individual involved and CSFloat requires appropriate internal review by your company. Accordingly, we respectfully request that CSFloat: — promptly investigate the circumstances described above; — take appropriate action to stop the dissemination of false statements concerning SIH; — ensure that the identified statements are removed or no longer disseminated through services or resources associated with BetterFloat; — refrain from representing SIH as a product designed or capable of stealing Steam accounts unless supported by reliable and objectively verifiable technical evidence; and — provide us with written confirmation of the outcome of your review and the measures taken. We have preserved screenshots, copies of the relevant publications, account information and other materials documenting the statements and circumstances described above. This letter also constitutes formal notice of a potential dispute and a request to preserve all relevant documents and electronically stored information, including internal communications, messages, logs, development materials and other records relating to BetterFloat, SIH and the statements at issue. We would prefer to resolve this matter directly and without litigation. However, if appropriate corrective action is not taken, SIH reserves all rights to seek relief before the competent courts and governmental authorities in the United States and to submit appropriate complaints to Google and other relevant platforms in order to protect its rights and business reputation. We would appreciate receiving your written response within a reasonable timeframe. We also contacted you through your official channels more than a month ago, but unfortunately, we have not received any updates yet.
