Are your followers really that oblivious to the facts?
Your credibility sinks to new lows with “assessments” like these.
- this deal is now indefinite. Whether Greenland becomes independent or not.
- This deal is valid with the USA inside NATO or outside.
- the USA doesn’t have to ask for overflight permissions anymore on a case by case basis (The obstinate Italians and Spanish governments come to mind).
- The USA can now block “investments” from other countries it deems not in the USA’s interests (That’s why we could kick China out of Panama, because of the agreement we had there).
- The USA gets access to minerals and can block non NATO countries deemed not in the interests of the USA .
So to say this is basically the 1951 agreement is not disingenuous, it’s a bold faced lie.
Yeah, Denmark still “controls” Greenland, with the permission of the USA. Some would say that’s not really control. 🤷♂️

The meme oversells the “poison pill.” The signed text is an amendment to the 1951 defense agreement. It gives the United States expanded, no-end-date basing and access (Pituffik plus two new defense areas), free movement and overflight, and screening that keeps non-NATO players out of sensitive sectors. Sovereignty stays Danish and Greenlandic. If Greenland ever becomes independent it must remain in NATO and take on the same obligations. There is no clause that automatically kills the deal if the United States left NATO.
Trump also told the UN today that the United States will not keep protecting the world the way it always has. America First. Our hemisphere and our vital interests first. The Greenland arrangement is framed as serving those interests while still giving Europe extra cover. Denmark got a lot of what it wanted; Washington got the operational control it actually needed.
