Sophie Butler, our Association Manager, has had the absolute pleasure of speaking with Andy Prigg this week, who took part in both the cycling time trial and road race at the British Transplant Games. Andy shared what the Games mean to him and to the wider transplant community: “The Games are just brilliant and bring transplant recipients and donor families together from around the country. It’s a brilliant motivation for transplant recipients to get fit and stay healthy post-transplant. More so though, it’s the social aspect. Many recipients have dealt with their condition since birth, often missing time in school, and the Games give people the opportunity to socialise and meet others they can truly relate to. I won both my cycling races. But to me, the win isn’t for me. It is for the people that got me there — the donor family, the clinicians and surgeons, my friends and family and so many other people!” We can’t wait to meet you in person next month at our ASM Andy, when we’ll have even more to celebrate… all to be revealed! 👀 Congratulations again! 👏 #OrganDonor #BritishTransplantGames #InspiringPeople
