Greece sits near the bottom of the EU on a basic tax-free allowance. For a typical adult with no or few children, tax starts at 9% from the first euro. There is a €777 tax credit, not a real 0% band, and it phases out above €12,000. That is why it feels harsh compared with Germany, Cyprus, Poland or France.
This benefits. those that can afford paying 100,000 yearly tax. otherwise for support staff etc.. you have to declare global income and pay high taxes.. unfortunately there is no talk to radically shape up the system to encourage participation and growth. Taxable income (€)
