What I hate most are endnotes renumbered for each chapter which are presented without any indication of the chapter number on each page of the endnotes. If the work has twelve x Endnote #10, the reader usually must flip & flip & again, flip, pages to find the right chapter. Grrr.
As someone who enjoys reading both, I tire of having to either use a separate bookmark or my finger to continuously flip between sections.
Also, screw those faux end notes that don't even have numbers referenced but expect you to remember the word they are referencing
YES, I enjoy the good use of footnotes. It is a great way to fluidly travel the same avenues and modes of information that led to that understanding of revelation/explanation for whatever is the topic at hand.
It's an experiential sharing in the knowledge process of the author.
Accurate. I dislike endnotes so much, I generally don’t read them. The secret to happiness could be tucked into an endnote, and I’d never be the wiser.
