Natural Farming + Biotechnology = Higher Yields, Greater Returns and Empowered Farmers Under visionary leadership of Hon’ble CM Shri Bhupendra Patel Ji, thousands of farmers across Gujarat are making a decisive shift toward natural farming. This grassroots transformation, sparked by the extensive, village-to-village awareness campaigns led by Hon’ble Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat is now being bolstered by cutting-edge scientific research. A recent joint study by the Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre (GBRC) and Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University (SDAU) has yielded highly promising results in turmeric cultivation, proving the efficacy of these methods. The findings demonstrate a remarkable surge in productivity: 🔹 Chemical Farming: 19.3 tonnes per hectare 🔹 Natural Farming: Over 40 tonnes per hectare The economic benefits are equally striking. While conventional chemical farming generated net returns of approximately ₹3.61 lakh per hectare, natural farming delivered a massive leap, yielding net returns exceeding ₹10.5 lakh per hectare. The most compelling aspect of this research lies in its scientific validation. Biotechnology-driven analyses of natural farming inputs have identified a rich presence of beneficial microorganisms alongside 300 to 500 vital metabolites. These biological agents are crucial for accelerating soil bioactivity and fostering robust, healthy plant growth. Ultimately, this is where time-honored tradition seamlessly integrates with modern technology. By backing generational farming wisdom with biotechnology and evidence-based innovation, Gujarat is paving the way for a more sustainable, profitable agricultural future.
