A historic moment. Britain’s age of coal-fired electricity is ending after more than 140 years of continuous production.
Electricity generated by coal transformed Britain and has shaped all of our lives. It was founded on an infrastructure of mines, rail and power stations.
In a landmark moment, GB Railfreight has made the final planned coal delivery by rail in the UK.
We delivered the shipment to @uniper_energy Ratcliffe-on-Soar power station, as it prepares for closure on 30 September. (1/4)
