A marriage between a couple from broken homes is more likely to have constant friction than when it's between a couple from one broken home or none.
Especially if the mother from each broken home is still alive and highly present in their lives.
If you're from a broken home, please try to create reasonable boundaries between your mother and your marriage.
Not only that.
Even if you're not from a broken home, and you know that your mother is either the one who calls the shots, or is highly disrespectful to your father, please do the same.
I did not say that you should not love your mother or accord her respect.
But your mother is no longer a good role model for marriage.
So love and respect her from a distance as far as your matrimonial home is concerned.
A woman builds a home.
And a man leads it.
Your mother is not the same as your father's wife.
Your father's wife is your real mother.
