At UNFCCC #ClimateWeek4 in Baku, we continued the Baku Dialogue on Water for Climate Action, launched at #COP29 to ensure that water remains an integral part of the climate agenda from one COP to the next.
Together with countries and partners, we discussed how to move water commitments into implementation, strengthen the governance and continuity of the Baku Dialogue, and carry this work forward towards #COP31.

Our work with young people, which began during #COP29 together with our Youth Climate Champion, @leylahasanova21, continues today.
At #BCAW2026, we held the next Youth-Led Climate Forum, bringing young people together to exchange ideas and contribute to the climate conversation on the road to #COP31.
Youth have an important role in this process. We need to give them the knowledge, skills and opportunities to engage meaningfully in climate action and help shape the solutions of the future.
This engagement must continue from one COP to the next, ensuring that young people are not only part of the conversation, but part of delivering climate action.

Today, we launched the third edition of Baku Climate Action Week - carrying forward the momentum and legacy of #COP29 and turning it into a platform for action, partnership and implementation.
I commend our COP29 High-Level Climate Champion, @ArpadaraiNigar, for her strong commitment to developing this initiative, and thank all our public and private sector partners for their continued support.
This year is particularly significant as Baku also hosts UNFCCC Climate Week 4 for Europe and Central Asia.
Ahead of #COP31 in Antalya, Baku provides an important space for countries and the wider climate community to find common ground, build trust and focus on solutions.
Our task now is to move from commitments to implementation, from ambition to investment, and from dialogue to results.
Let Baku be a place where partnerships are built, solutions move forward and momentum for a strong and ambitious #COP31 is created.

During our meeting with Francesco La Camera (@flacamera), Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (#IRENA), we discussed carrying forward the #COP29 #energy agenda at #COP31. We exchanged views on advancing the #energystorage, grids and #hydrogen initiatives launched in Baku through concrete implementation mechanisms in Antalya, Azerbaijan’s accession to the Global Offshore Wind Alliance, as well as cooperation on sustainable aviation fuels and hydrogen.

We concluded the third edition of the #ShamakhiRetreat of #COP negotiators. The retreat has once again demonstrated that the most meaningful progress in #climate #diplomacy begins with open dialogue, mutual trust and a shared commitment to finding common ground.
Over the past days, climate negotiators engaged in frank and constructive exchanges in a unique informal setting that encouraged understanding beyond negotiating rooms. I am confident that the ideas, trust and momentum built in Shamakhi will make a valuable contribution to a successful #COP31.
As one of the enduring legacies of Azerbaijan’s #COP29 Presidency, the Shamakhi Retreat has become a platform where bridges are built, consensus is nurtured and #multilateralism is strengthened. My sincere thanks to all participants for their active engagement and dedication. Together, we continue turning dialogue into action.
