I have my patients sign an acknowledgment statement that they are being made aware that I do not re-certify thru @ABIMcert but recert with NBPAS. Not surprisingly, they don’t care. It’s a scam.

In 2014, I began #ProudlyBoycottingMOC and I cut ties with @ABIMcert and
I have never looked back. I have no idea if I am deactivated, decertified, or something worse and, frankly, fellow physicians, I don’t give a damn.
Dear @ABIMcert, I have exercised my preferred option, which is to deactivate ABIM. You parasites will never see another dime from me again. All the best, -Ed

Just so you know, my patients sign acknowledging that they are being made aware that I do not participate in time-limited certification exams, or maintenance of certification. No patient has ever turned and walked away. You should try it sometime.

In late 2017, I was “forced” to voluntarily relinquish my staff privileges at a hospital where I held privileges since 1993. Never a blemish on my record. @ABIMcert notifies the hospital if re-certification lapses. @InfoNbpas
Time for a total boycott on our ABMS medical boards. I'll be damned if my MOC fees fund executive travel to Hawaii. Thanks to @medpagetoday for these two excellent investigative reports

This is what medicine will look like in the future. Electronic health record (EHR), mandated by govt to benefit insurance companies, are primarily billing tools- not designed for clinical reasoning. (clicking, yes, thinking no). Docs are opting out. I'm also #proudlyboycottingMOC
