Sad news for our Liverpool's pub architectural heritage. As many of you have likely heard, a section of the magnificent, ornate ceiling in The Vines on Lime Street has collapsed. Thankfully, it sounds like no one was seriously injured, though it must have been a massive shock for everyone enjoying a quiet pint in the lounge! The pub’s management suspects water ingress might be to blame, and they are currently investigating whilst securing the area. It’s heartbreaking to see damage to such a stunning piece of Victorian craftsmanship. Let’s hope the restoration is swift and sympathetic to the original plasterwork. Fortunately, the majority of the pub remains open.

WOW… WHAT A DAY! 🇮🇹🥵🔥 Today was the first day of our stomp to #Rome, and the temperature hit a brutal 39.8°C! 🌡️🔥 There were a few casualties along the way because the heat was absolutely relentless, but the important thing is that all 30 of us made it safely to today’s destination, #Viterbo — just about! 😂🙏 I swear the hours in #Italy are about three times longer than they are in England 😂 By the time we finished, everyone was well and truly cooked! 🥵 But what an experience it has already been. I joined this amazing group at very short notice, and I honestly can't thank all 30 walkers enough for making me feel so welcome and part of the gang. 💙🇮🇹 Most importantly, we’re stomping to raise awareness for #ProstateCancer, while remembering Ged and Brian. They may no longer be walking alongside their friends, but believe me, their presence is being felt on every mile of this journey.
