New York City is on verge of ending a huge chunk of Amazon's exploitation.
Right now Amazon technically doesn't employ tens of thousands of drivers.
These drivers officially work for other companies, but in reality those companies function like Amazon subsidiaries.
This loophole lets Amazon get away with not being responsible for all of these workers — who are exposed to unsafe working conditions and experience numerous accidents and injuries.
Now the New York City Council is close to closing that loophole, and Zohran Mamdani is throwing his weight behind the legislation too.

Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien and General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman rallied with hundreds of Amazon Teamsters, allies, and New York elected officials at Teamsters Local 282 to urge the New York City Council to pass the Delivery Protection Act.
The bill would require Amazon and other delivery companies operating in New York City to license their facilities and make Amazon’s third-party Delivery Service Partner model illegal within the five boroughs.
“Amazon’s Delivery Service Partner model is the most dangerous business model in America today. It allows Amazon to break the law while hiding behind shell companies it has total control over,” O’Brien said. “The Delivery Protection Act is the blueprint for how workers can fight back against Amazon’s greed. The New York City Council must pass this critical legislation and do its part to protect American workers.”

Let’s remember what the so-called Woke 1 era was sparked by:
George Floyd, Sandra Bland, Breonna Taylor, Jacob Blake. And on and on and on. Unarmed Black people murdered by law enforcement with impunity.
I stand by that uprising and would never apologize for it or my role.
