The gym was already short 2 instructors before the first class even started. Both out with “the flu.” I offered to cover and taught them back to back while people kept looking around asking where the usual faces were. After class, an older woman asked me directly what was going on with them. I told her “they said they were sick AGAIN, or their kids were.” She let out a short sigh. “Oh, something is going around. Flu…” She paused. “Hope it’s not that Covid. I don’t think I could ever wear a mask again. The ones that were available to us didn’t even work because you breathed and you could feel the air just puffing out around your cheeks, and feeling smothered. Sweating on my face and it was so hot.” Then she tapped me on the shoulder and changed course. “You know what is spreading right now and could be what they have? The mold spores are out now. That’s got to be what it is.” Not much has been learned so far in this Covid pandemic over here it seems. 🤦‍♀️
