Fascinating. Resolve poll shows about double the number of Australians support the lowering of house prices as oppose it. #auspol Resolve Political Monitor smh.com.au/politics/federal/…

The poll is misleading. People may support lower house prices in principle, but that doesn’t mean they support CGT and negative-gearing changes that are driving prices down and eroding the value of their own homes.

According to another poll, 100% of Australians support lower prices… until they want to sell.

One of those times where the people hold a much different opinion if you just went on front pages...I do think the fact that News Ltd is as much a real estate as media company comes into it

Absolutely. The critical problem that Australia faces is that our housing prices are too high...NOT that houses aren't worth enough or that investors can't speculate enough. Now someone just needs to tell our terminally bent #MSM.

Yeah nah, the poll only measures willingness to pay, but what does it say about wage growth compared to the price jump?

How does increasing the tax on shares, EFT's, etc, lower house prices? ...... pure tax grab.

Yes this would be correct just have to sit in the lunch room at any work place and you will rarely hear that dropping prices are a bad thing

Pirate Pete doesn’t have an idea, housing prices are tanking, and that’s discouraging first home buyers from entering the market. Particularly whilst the left destroy the economy, Gd knows where this ends, maybe a reversal on CGT and negative gearing? As Keating did.

Yep but those people won’t be the same ones who took up idiot Albanese’s 5% deposit vote grabber and are now in negative equity territory. 🤷🏻

Much more than that - for the Total August, about twice as many support against neutral/undecided. Brown is oppose and it's too small to fit a number - which is 10%, so 6 times (60% support, 10% oppose) as many support as oppose.

I wonder how many of the people have any realistic idea of how housing loans are created. Not many is my bet.
