I’m sorry but no one with ADHD should be getting any PIP . It is manageable and requires some grit and resilience and it is hard but so is life . I am saying this as someone who has a loved one with severe ADHD who is holding down a job and making their way in the world without Government support .

What on Earth does that all mean? Disabled people aren't resources to exploit. Disabled people just want their lives levelled UP to that of normally abled people. PIP isn't a 'work' benefit. It's purpose is to mitigate disability.

It's hard to understand how people are, for the purpose of accessing benefits, being defined by their diagnosis. The assessment for PIP, for example, focusses exclusively on the nature and severity of the impairments to personal and social functioning that are a consequence of the applicant's disorder. It rightly makes no prior assumptions about the type and degree of the person's needs on the basis of their diagnosis.

People are measured on how their diagnoses (which rightly can include ADHD and anxiety) impact specific daily living tasks and mobility. Nothing has ‘expanded’, nothing. It is a level playing field offering support to those who struggle with things you and I take for granted.

Check how disabilities are recorded. Conditions are recorded in alphabetical order so ADHD is often top of the list but that doesn’t mean it’s their prime disability. @helen_whately is going to drive someone to suicide. I hate her.

I tried claiming PIP because of physical and mental health conditions. I'm not kidding when I say *not a single impact* of my anxiety, depression or suspected autism was considered and the report actually lied about them. It is NOT EASY to claim.
